“I have my own soup company,” says Mariëlle Lamberts. “And then as much organic and local as possible. When I started my company, I still had another job for 28 hours a week, but that didn’t make me happy. Thanks to Brilliant Work, I’ve fully pursued my passion – the soups.”
What Mariëlle did – starting a business alongside her job – is very common. It’s incredibly daunting to dive straight into a new venture without financial security or an income stream. Because Mariëlle couldn’t focus on one thing – her job or her passion – neither ultimately thrived. Through word-of-mouth, she came into contact with Brilliant Work. “I felt like I was stuck and couldn’t grow my business,” she explains. “I felt my soups were suffering, and I was utterly miserable at my job.”

During the coaching programme, the focus gradually shifted from passion to business: where do I want to go and what do I want to achieve in the next two to three years? What turnover do I aim for and where do I keep my focus? I have a tendency to try and sell everything – breads, sandwiches, you name it. Thanks to Marco, I was consistently brought back to my main goal, which is soups. Now I’m fully committed to that, especially since I have my own kitchen.”
