Willem van Putten

Willem (1961) has held many national and international (interim) management positions until today. These positions mostly involved selling the products and services of often Dutch companies in new countries, but also organising company takeovers and managing staff. His experience lies in various sectors including many IT companies.

Besides managing companies, he has guided a number of start-ups on their “journey” to growth at home and abroad. There is nothing like making these companies successful, and the energy you get from it is immense. In many cases, entrepreneurs focus too much on the product or service they want to offer, and often pay (too) little attention to things like regulations, permits, certifications and marketing.

Willem also works as a lecturer at Nyenrode and Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences. In Rotterdam, he teaches, among others, the course on doing business in other cultures. Educations Willem has received include a PhD in social geography RUU, Master in Information Management (KUB) and a number of management training courses at Insead, IMD and Kellogg.
