“We translate a company’s success stories into a custom-made Christmas package that all employees and relations of that company recognise themselves in,” says Jesse de Vries of Dutch Giving proudly. Every Christmas card and every package is therefore completely tailored to the end-user. “And this, in turn, leads to a positive experience with the company.”
Jesse’s concept is simple and effective: all Christmas packages are custom-made to a company’s wishes. Dutch Giving also organises a Christmas market at companies or organisations on site. Here, employees can shop for their own gifts using tokens or credit cards. This achieves a sense of togetherness, conviviality, and ensures everyone goes home very satisfied with their personally chosen Christmas package. “It’s also possible to link it to the company party,” Jesse explains. “We then organise a full day for a company or organisation, incorporating the Christmas package, the year-end drinks, and the end-of-year party.”
‘David is a highly passionate and committed coach.’
Dutch Giving engaged Brilliant Work as a start-up entrepreneur. “The challenge was to market the plan well to initiate significant growth,” Jesse explains. Together with business coach David Kleerekoper – who has extensive experience in the food sector – Jesse set out to identify Dutch Giving’s target audience, how to reach them, and subsequently how to unburden them.
“David was highly passionate and committed,” Jesse explains. “We’re still in contact: he thinks along with me on many issues and also connects his network to me. A win-win situation, then. David is a nice and honest man; I can really collaborate well with him.”
‘From Questions to Brainstorming’
The methodology David used was asking a lot of questions. “Those questions then made me think, and we’d brainstorm about the answers. This way, we arrived at new insights together,” Jesse explains. “Furthermore, David also contributed good ideas. For example, this year we’re going to introduce a kind of ‘open-showroom’ concept for the first time, based on the idea of an ‘open house’.”
“For this, we’re inviting as many representatives, management assistants, HR managers, and marketing managers as possible to, together with a host or hostess from Dutch Giving, select the Christmas package for their company or organisation while enjoying snacks and drinks. We’re going to do this in June, July, August, and September.”
‘Thanks to David, I’ve Devised New Concepts’
“The coaching has, among other things, resulted in me implementing new concepts. I’ve also been able to sell these to healthcare institutions and businesses,” Jesse proudly shares. “My network has also grown, and I’ve learnt to think strategically to enter the ‘traditional’ Christmas package market in an original and refreshed way.”
In five years, Jesse hopes Dutch Giving will still be a healthy company. “I want to make 50,000 people happy annually. And I hope there will be a great team working with the same drive and passion as I do now!”
