Het MatrixMethode Instituut – Business Coaching and Entrepreneurial Coaching

“Together with my wife and her son, we have a general partnership (VOF). We wanted to formalise a number of things for the future by setting up a private limited company (BV) and a holding company,” says Walter Franssen of Het MatrixMethode Instituut. “My wife has developed her own coaching method for professionals. This is an intervention technique that’s very effective in resolving all sorts of mental clutter. With this method, ‘the story’ doesn’t need to be told to receive help.”

“My wife started this 30 years ago, and I joined later,” Walter explains. “I knew Lizanne Jakobs from a Gelderland networking event. We mainly had organisational questions, and we were assigned coach Marco Gorselink. He primarily looked at the structure and indicated that everything is intertwined. We then all three received questions from him to think about what we actually wanted.”

‘A family business can be complex.’

“Through Marco’s coaching, we’ve been able to ‘smooth out’ internal discussions about the company and its future. Some matters are simply more difficult in a family business,” Walter explains. “A family business sometimes makes things complex. Marco dotted the i’s and crossed the t’s and ensured we established a strong vision for Het MatrixMethode Instituut.

“Marco was particularly incisive,” Walter explains. “He’s very good at asking the right critical questions. He also worked with a model that supported us with a first, second, and third ring concerning the vision. How you’re known in the market, and so on. He really helped us get started.”

“Furthermore, Marco helped us significantly with the question ‘what do you want with the institute itself,’ but also with the questions ‘what do you want in the near future’ and ‘how do you see your company in five years?’ Various things emerged from this, and he addressed them directly,” Walter explains. “Through this programme, my wife’s son also realised that he wants to do much more with online marketing than we can currently offer him as a company. He now also works closely with his mother, almost 24 hours a day. Thanks to Marco’s coaching, he now knows more about what he does and doesn’t want. He’s now looking for a job, at least alongside his current work, to pursue his own path more.”

‘I Want to Go Global with My Company’

Walter knows exactly what he wants for Het MatrixMethode Instituut in five years. “I want to have sparked a new movement, just like Jaap Korteweg,” he explains. “Because he, as a farmer, had enormous cold storage facilities, he was approached to store the carcasses that had been culled after the swine fever outbreak. The rendering plants simply couldn’t handle processing those animals. He didn’t want to rent out his cold storage for that. He wanted people to treat animals differently, and so he founded the Vegetarian Butcher. Now he’s sold the concept to Unilever, and its products are in every shop. That’s what I’d want for the MatrixMethode too.”

“We’re now waiting for a scientific publication in the ‘Journal of Behavior Therapy and Experimental Psychiatry’. We expect this around mid-June. Research has been conducted by Dr. Ellin Simon into the effects of the MatrixMethode on children aged 5 to 18 who have experienced a negative event. Stress and anxieties from childhood can lead to developmental disorders, which in turn cause major problems when one is an adult. This leads to waiting lists and even more problems. We believe we can prevent this with the MatrixMethode.”
