“I have my own business selling soups,” Mariëlle Lamberts tells us. “And as much as possible, I use organic and locally-sourced ingredients. When I started my business, I was also working a full-time job for 28 hours a week, but it wasn’t making me happy. Thanks to Brilliant Work, I was able to fully pursue my passion for making soups.“
Starting a business while still working another job is something that many people do. It’s scary to dive right into a new venture without any financial security or income stream. But because Mariëlle couldn’t focus on just one thing – her job or her passion – both ended up suffering. She was introduced to Brilliant Work through a friend. “I felt like I was stuck and couldn’t grow my business,” she explains. “I felt like my soups were suffering, and I was unhappy at my job.”
"In the end, I decided to take the plunge and quit my job"
“Eventually, I was paired with coach Marco Gorselink, and we hit it off right away. We had really good conversations, many of them personal. It became clear to me pretty quickly that everything that was outside of my comfort zone, everything that wasn’t in line with my principles, I was doing at my job. In the end, I decided to take the plunge and quit my job.”
“Marco and Brilliant Work helped me to focus and get back to my passion. Now, I’m fully dedicated to my soups! During the coaching process, my focus shifted gradually from my passion to the business side of things: where do I want to go, what do I want to achieve in the next two to three years? Where do I want to focus my efforts to increase my revenue? I tend to want to sell everything, like bread or sandwiches, but Marco kept bringing me back to my main goal, which is soups. That’s what I’m fully committed to now, especially now that I have my own kitchen.”
“I’ve become more aware of my focus”
“Brilliant Work has guided me very well, made me aware of my focus and goals, and helped me to grow. In the end, I’m a happier person because of it. My business is also growing because I can fully focus on my passion for soups.”
